FAQ 's

Q. Can you take my dog for a few weeks and train him?
A. Boarding and training can only be successful when the guardian maintains the training program when their dog returns home. It is far more effective and economical to train your own dog with our guidance.

Q. My dog is aggressive. Can he be fixed?
A. First see your Veterinarian to rule out medical causes. Most dog aggression is treatable BUT a progressive behavior program must be followed for an extended period of time. Many great dogs have lost their lives to today 's instant results oriented society. Aggression is a very serious issue. You must decide whether you are willing to train and manage your dog for the rest of his life. One mistake can result in serious injury or death.

Q. At what age can I start to train my puppy?
A. The sooner the better! In fact, we offer pre-arrival consultations so you and your puppy can get started on the right paw.

Q. My dog is 6 years old. Can I still train him?
A. Absolutely! Older dogs are often calmer and more attentive.

Q. Do you train therapy dogs?
A. Unfortunately we do not certify therapy dogs but we do teach a basic obedience course which can give your dog the proper foundation needed for therapy work.

Q. Why is it my dog does all his commands at home, but outside he looks at me like he has never heard the word "sit " before?
A. At home you 're the only show in town but outside there are a multitude of distractions &things to smell, people, dogs, squirrels, etc. When your dog struggles, go back and re-teach the exercise from the beginning. Practice a few times on every walk, so stuff a few treats in your pocket!

Q. What do I do if my dog has a housetraining accident when I 'm not looking?
A. Absolutely NOTHING. Your dog will have no idea why she 's being reprimanded. She may look guilty because dogs are very sensitive and pick up on subtle cues we may not realize we 're giving.
